The Liberation of South Vietnam War Rules

“Fighting in the jungles of Vietnam was like battling a ghost—unseen, unheard, until it was too late. The enemy could be anywhere, and the only certainty was the relentless, suffocating heat and the constant sound of the jungle itself, an environment that was as much an adversary as the Viet Cong.”

The Liberation of South Vietnam is a squad-based tabletop wargame rules set that works with any scale of miniatures.

Move your platoon through the jungles of Vietnam as the North Vietnamese Army and Viet Cong close in on you. Each turn, a card is drawn and randomly placed on the table, which closes in on your platoon. Only when the card can be spotted by your men will they know what the threat is, if it is a threat. A pdf to print your own cards comes with the rules.

Every turn brings new dangers with event cards that keep the enemy’s movements unknown until the last moment. With simple yet deep mechanics, you’ll need strategy, quick thinking, and careful resource management to complete your missions and bring your troops home.

FM19-68 comes with the following pdfs:
• The FM19-68 – The Liberation of South Vietnam Rules
• Printable Quick Reference Sheet
• Interactive tablet (or big phone) Quick Reference Sheet
• Print your own event cards.

While designed as a two-player game, these rules are flexible enough to allow for solo play through to three, four or even more players.

Games should last a couple hours.

The rules’ layout parodies the American military field manuals of the Vietnam era, including handwritten notes and rule clarifications throughout the book.
